Nestled along the shores of Lake Champlain, Burlington is the perfect starting point for an unforgettable cycling adventure. Pedal along the scenic Champlain Bikeway, soaking in breathtaking lake views and rolling green hills. With its bike-friendly trails, vibrant arts scene, and cozy cafes, Burlington invites cyclists of all levels to explore its picturesque streets and beyond. Join our fully supported bicycle tour to experience the best of Vermont’s landscapes, from serene waterfronts to charming rural roads, all starting in this dynamic lakeside gem! Enjoy Burlington during the day and afternoon, then meet at the hotel at 4:00 pm for the Welcome meeting, followed by dinner with friends – new and old – to start your bicycling vacation!
Dinner:

- Fajitas (Steak or Chicken): Sizzling grilled steak or chicken with onions and bell peppers, served with rice, beans, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, and three flour tortillas for assembling your own fajitas. Highlighted as one of the most popular dishes on Casa Real’s menu, offering a classic Mexican experience with generous portions.
- Pollo Maya: Grilled chicken breast topped with a creamy chipotle sauce, served with rice, beans, and a side of lettuce, pico de gallo, and sour cream. - Fat Cow Farm Beef Burger: Grilled Fat Cow Farm beef burger topped with lettuce, tomato, and red onion on a toasted brioche bun, served with chips. Customize with toppings like bacon, avocado, or VT cheddar for $2 each, or mushrooms, caramelized onion, or fried egg for $1 each. A classic, locally sourced burger with endless personalization.
- Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich: House-fried chicken breast dipped in Shelburne Tap House’s signature Nashville Hot Sauce, topped with spicy bread & butter pickles, spicy pimento cheese, and shredded lettuce on a toasted brioche bun, served with chips and a pickle. A fiery, flavorful option for heat lovers.
- Philly Cheesesteak: Thinly sliced beef or chicken with sautéed peppers and onions, classic American cheese, and roasted garlic aioli on a toasted Italian roll, served with chips and a pickle. A hearty, savory sandwich with a Vermont twist.

Please note all trip information is based on previous trips and/or contracted lodging and restaurants and is subject to change based on availability or specific trip needs. All elevation ascent or descent and mileage is based on information from Google and/or Garmin.
- Riders who are comfortable riding at least 10 miles per hour should have an enjoyable trip. The primary routes are primarily on paved roads with one day on a hard pack trail. Please see the daily routes descriptions for additional information. Of course, if a rider is tired or does not feel like riding, the SAG vehicle will transport the rider. All riders may ride at their own pace, slow or fast or anything in-between. To provide the optimum SAG support, the vans will drop-off the riders for the longest routes first.
- Drive to the starting hotel: Holiday Inn Express – South Burlington, 1720 Shelburne Road South Burlington, Vermont 05403
- Fly into the Burlington, Vermont (BTV) and rent a car or take an Uber/Lyft for the 6 mile (about 15 minute) drive to the hotel.
- $200 to reserve your spot and the remainder due 45 days before the trip start.

- Bike Rental: Bikes are available for rent in the Burlington area, including Local Motion with e-bike rentals. We suggest conducting a Google search in Burlington to find the best place to accommodate your needs.
