ABOUT ME
A Practice Built on Experience
Over the years I have developed an approach grounded in decades of study and experience. My model blends Attachment Theory and Bowen Family Systems theory and includes my background with addiction and trauma.. This approach can help clients gain greater clarity and expand your capacity to respond rather than react.
Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside of work, I enjoy biking, hiking, and reading about science. I have always been interested in how people think, grow, and make sense of their experiences. I bring that curiosity into every session.
Begin with a Conversation
Choosing a therapist is an important decision that requires connection, trust, and alignment. If this approach resonates with you, please reach out for a free 30-minute consultation. Often, a conversation is the first step in the process.
A Different Kind of Therapy
Many therapy approaches focus on symptoms or techniques. While helpful in the short term, they often do not address the underlying causes of recurring issues. My approach is different. We take time to understand how your past shapes your thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Instead of focusing only on what is happening, we explore why it happens. This process helps clients recognize patterns they might not have noticed before, allowing more thoughtful and consistent responses.
Who This Work Is For
This work is for those who are curious about themselves and willing to look deeper. You may be facing relationship issues, communication challenges, anxiety, or a general sense that something is not working, even if you cannot fully explain it. Many clients seek to understand themselves, not just manage symptoms. They often ask why. If this resonates with you, my approach may be a good fit.
A More Personal Experience
To provide truly personalized care, I intentionally limit my client list so each person receives my full attention. Sessions are a full 60 minutes, with a 90-minute option if needed. You will not feel rushed, and conversations can continue as needed. You have direct access to me, without intermediaries or a receptionist managing your care. I also offer a free 30-minute consultation to help you determine if this is the right fit before committing. This approach makes therapy more natural and effective.
The Philosophy Behind the Work
At its core, I believe understanding leads to change. Rather than avoid difficult thoughts or emotions, we explore them to understand how your patterns developed and continue to affect your life. Over time, you may notice:
- More clarity in your thinking
- Better control over strong emotions
- Stronger and more stable relationships
